Frequently Asked Questions
Is a pain block safe?
Yes. Ultrasound-guided anesthetic blocks are safe procedures when performed by a specialist physician. Real-time visualization via ultrasound increases precision and reduces risks.
How long does the block effect last?
It depends on the type of block. Blocks with local anesthetic last hours to days. Blocks with corticosteroids can last weeks to months. Neurolytic blocks can have a prolonged effect of 6-12 months.
Does the block hurt?
The procedure causes minimal discomfort. We use fine needles and prior local anesthesia on the skin. Most patients report only mild pressure during the injection.
How many blocks can I get?
It depends on the condition and response to treatment. For blocks with corticosteroids, a minimum interval of 6-8 weeks between applications is recommended, with a maximum of 3-4 per year in the same location.
